Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document.

When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

Changing the markup has not helped me at all. Changing to Show ¶ seems to slow down the next bump-out, but it is not reliable—and we shouldn't have to do these ridiculous work-arounds! As various other people have said, we're paying for this software to work.

That TOP layout fix doesn't work for me—my Normal already was TOP, and changing it again did nothing.

Amen to that and to everyone who has highlighted this nightmare problem, which has been bugging me for the past 3 months. I'm a full-time pro editor too. Thanks for the partial fixes, but nothing removes the problem. MICROSOFT - PLEASE FIX THIS OR I SWEAR I'M LEAVING.

Hi to everyone who has contributed to this thread.

First of all, it is ridiculous that Microsoft has not fixed this problem. It has been happening for over a year now.

My latest work around is to click Undo when the glitch/bump happens, then turn off Track Changes, make the edit and then immediately turn the Track Changes back on.

It is annoying for sure and you may lose some individual edits, but.....
