Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document. 

When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

    Have the same problem for months now. so random. I've turned the reversed-P button to see any style, couldn't find any. but every now and then, the cursor jumps to the end of the doc when i delete, or even type . so frustating.

    I think it's worth adding that this issue isn't only present in Office 365. In order to avoid the additional horrors of 'Modern Comments' (that's another story), I jumped ship from Word 365 to Word 2019. But the issue with jumping to the end of the document when using tracked changes is still there. Now I'm wondering if it's got something to do with a Windows Update.

    I've been wrestling with this for months as well, and I've only now found this forum that is discussing it. I thought I was going crazy. I've even done a complete uninstall and reinstall of Windows 365, but it's changed nothing. This isn't just costing me money and wasted effort—it's destroying my confidence as a professional editor. I no longer have control over the document. I have zero confidence I'm not actually introducing errors at this point.

    It is beyond belief that something like this could happen this far down the road in an application's existence. Stop making "improvements" that introduce horrible glitches that make the app almost unusable.

    Are you trying to force everyone to Google Docs?

    ETA: I am actually using Microsoft 365 for Mac, and I thought that was the problem. Apparently it is the same for Word users in both environments.
