Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document. 

When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

    ^13 is just a different way to express ^p in the F&R box. If Use Wildcards is ticked, you can't search for pilcrows using ^p, you have to use ^13. ^13 is what Word considers to be a special character.

    Note that you can only use ^13 in the "Find what" box. You must always use ^p in the "Replace with" box.

    In other words, ^13 and ^p are not exactly the same.

    This is documented in the article at https://wordmvp.com/FAQs/General/UsingWildcards.htm: "You may wish to identify a character string by means of a paragraph mark ¶. The normal search string for this would be ^p. ^p does not work in wildcard search strings! It must, however, be used in replace strings, but when searching, you must use the substitute code ^13."

    I am in the same boat. It's not every document, and it's not every time, but it IS infuriating when it happens. In the same documents where the glitches occur, I experience seeing double and have to change the view in Review to "fix" it. How do we fix and/or prevent these errors from occurring?

    This doesn't work for me. As many others have noted, I am a professional editor and edit with "Track Changes" on. I use the Simple Mark-up view because the full one is too distracting. Even with Simple Mark-up, I still have this problem.
