Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document. 

When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

    I am also having this issue across multiple documents with Track Changes on. Been having the issues for many months. I usually undo my edit, which shifts the view back to exact spot in document I was working on and then try a different method of editing.

    I just submitting feedback, however not holding my breath since apparently it has been an issue for at least 5 to 6 months. Thought it was an isolated occurrence until I found this forum.

    My son, who is about to join Microsoft UK as a graduate, tells me the most likely short-term solution is to install an earlier version of Word. He says these things are controlled by the software geeks in the States and he's puzzled that they have not already dealt with it, but he's going to try and find out.

    Chris, that would be most helpful. I had a call from someone yesterday who wanted to take control of my laptop and I told him this was not MY problem but a global one and their techies needed to solve the problem asap for everyone. I did not let him take control of my laptop

    I've been having the same problem, and I'm so relieved that I'm not alone. But I'm sorry everyone else is suffering, too. It is driving me crazy and my productivity is taking a hit.

    My workaround is a macro with a keyboard shortcut to place a bookmark so I can save my spot frequently. I work in print view, and I've found that the problem resolves (sometimes) if I switch between that view with gaps between the pages and the view with no gaps between the pages. I've also found it helps to turn off tracking (another keyboard shortcut) and delete the dodgy paragraph break.

    But I'm so disappointed with the service I am receiving for my subscription, and I really hope a fix comes soon.

    FWIW, this has been reported to the Word team. The response was "We have seen user feedback on this issue and actively investigating." This doesn't explicitly say that a bug has been opened, but sending feedback on the issue using the built-in Send Feedback mechanism is clearly helpful if they're waiting to get a specific number of complaints before acting.
