Antoneth, have you made any progress on this issue?

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document.
When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

Exactly. It's time to start telling the world that MS Word cannot be trusted to edit a document.
Law offices and investment houses that handle long documents for M&As should be thrilled with this news.
Another professional editor chiming in! Same problem. In addition, sometimes when I make a new comment nothing appears on the screen. I have to save and reopen the document to see my comment box. Wasting huge amounts of time!
Adding my name to the list of editorial professionals losing their minds over this--this glitch is ruining my working life. I was convinced I had accidentally programmed a keystroke to take me to the end of a document and couldn't figure out which combination of keys was causing the jump, so I was so relieved to find this thread! But that relief was short-lived after I read all the comments and realized there's no fix. UGHHHHHHHHHHHH.
I'm using Word for Mac 2019, v. 16.51, working in Print Layout view with All Markup visible but deletions set to "Hidden" in Preferences. My experience has been that this doesn't happen in Draft view, but since editing with Track Changes on in Draft view is excruciating, that cannot be the recommended solution. <weeps>
Just adding my voice to this issue, in case it helps stoke the fire at Microsoft to fix this issue. It is so hard to think of Word as being buggy software, but this jumping to the end of document thing drove me so bonkers, I started working in my doc without track changes on, which negates most of the value I get out of using Word in the first place. Please, please fix this! I am using the latest Word version from the Microsoft Cloud on a MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.4. There are several other things I can't stand about this latest "upgrade," like the way the the huge box pops up under a misspelled word when I go to correct it. This mostly just gets in the way of my cursor. Also can't stand that when I change the term I am searching for in the Find bar, the first letter I type never shows up, because Word uses that first letter to delete the previous word I was was searching on instead of just typing over it. But the cursor jumping to the end of the document is the real killer for me. Thanks, Mike
