Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document. 

When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

    I haven't had this problem in a while. That said, it may be because I am not reproducing the steps that are causing this issue. I rarely work inside track changes now, and, when I do, may not be trying to delete a line.

    Twice I sent "feedback" to MICROSOFT about this issue. I encourage those really troubled by this to do the same.

    To do so, while in WORD,

    • select (left click) "File" at the top left
    • select (left click) "Feedback" at the bottom left
    • select (left click) "Send a Frown"

    Then you can add a comment and other information about your problem.

    Then hit "Submit."

    Perhaps if enough people do this, the problem will be fixed. I hope so.

    You're correct! I just reloaded my Normal and it hasn't fixed it. Damn.

    This is a flamethrower fix, Don’t do it. I tried it too—erasing years of tweaks which had made Word more useful for my specific purposes. But I’m sorry to tell you it does not work. I am still rebuilding my old workarounds, and still handicapped by the intermittent kick to the end of the document.

    Hi all, I suspect, after some sluething, the problem may be caused by having changed your Word Normal Template in error. I have tracked back any changes to my system and I estimate the issue began the day my system says my Normal Template was changed. And so I am going to delete the change and revert to the default Normal. I'll let you know if that fixes our problems. You'll find your Normal Template at C:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates. To get the default template back: Locate the "normal. dotm" file inside the Templates folder, select it, hold "Shift" and press "Delete." Click "Yes" to permanently delete the normal template file. 8. Launch Microsoft Word to create a new, default normal template.
