Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document. 

When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

    I had been avoiding this problem all morning by turning on "Simple Markup" and felt confident enough about it to post my supposed solution, but I have very recently discovered that while it works frequently enough, it does not work all the time. Sorry for getting anyone's hopes up.

    I think I have found a solution to this annoying problem; editors cannot turn off track changes of course because they need to see all changes they make, so that of course rules out turning off track changes, one way of avoiding this problem.

    But I have been having success keeping track changes on and avoiding this problem by switching the track changes view to "Simple Markup" rather than "All Markup." This does not as far as I can tell change anything. I edit as I see fit, the edits show up whenever I switch to "All Markup," and I don't get dumped to the bottom of the document.

    I'm interested in others' experience with this fix or go-around.

    I have been experiencing the same difficulty for about two months now; very aggravating.

    I too need to keep track changes on as I am an editor; I need my authors to see what I have added or deleted, so turning it off is a no-go.

    I have also learned that jumping below the problem area (that prompts a jump to the end of the document) and backspacing works, but that is cumbersome and not foolproof.

    MickyRowe, if you go to the start of the second paragraph and use the backspace key to delete backwards (instead of the forward delete), it seems to prevent the cursor jumping to the end. So I've heard.

    I don't know if it only happens with one of those views. I only work in 'Simple Markup' and rarely work in 'All Markup' (it's much too cluttered to work in). It could just be the toggling between the two that 'resets' the document in some way. In any case, it's only started to happen inside the last 4-6 weeks. It's never done that before, in the 15 years I've been using Word.

    Another part of the problem happens when I try to join two paragraphs together using the delete key. The cursor not only jumps to the end of the document, but if I press undo (in an attempt to get a work around solution), the second paragraph disappears.

    So, I have to undo twice to get back to safe ground.
