Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document.

When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

I have sent a message to ******@gatesnotes.com as follows. I have asked for a read receipt.

    Dear Mr Gates

We as the editing community across the globe and subscribers to MSWord 365 have been having endless problems with this since a recent update – there are literally hundreds of messages about this. Noone responds from your call centre and no one seems able or willing to fix it.

Please assist as a matter of urgency.

We are wasting so much time jumping backwards and forwards

Your swift attention to this problem would be highly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Jacqui

Just adding my voice to this issue, in case it helps stoke the fire at Microsoft to fix this issue. It is so hard to think of Word as being buggy software, but this jumping to the end of document thing drove me so bonkers, I started working in my doc without track changes on, which negates most of the value I get out of using Word in the first place. Please, please fix this! I am using the latest Word version from the Microsoft Cloud on a MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.4. There are several other things I can't stand about this latest "upgrade," like the way the the huge box pops up under a misspelled word when I go to correct it. This mostly just gets in the way of my cursor. Also can't stand that when I change the term I am searching for in the Find bar, the first letter I type never shows up, because Word uses that first letter to delete the previous word I was was searching on instead of just typing over it. But the cursor jumping to the end of the document is the real killer for me. Thanks, Mike
