Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

Like ChrisNewton8, I'm finding this problem reduced somewhat in the last few months. When it reappears, I get relief from toggling between Simple and Full Markup, and it's usually half an hour or so before I get kicked to the end again. I've also managed some relief by importing my own Normal and Edit Note formats to less-professional manuscripts. However we work around this, it is still an unacceptable time-loss for professional editors to have to deal with, Microsoft!

Use of full markup view is not good practice for editorial professionals working on complex texts. It makes it too easy to miss errors.

When I make use of "All Markup," I can control what is shown and what is not shown, by using the options in the Advanced Track Changes Options dialog box. For that reason, I find the "All Markup" view more useful than "Simple Markup."

Of course, you should work the way you prefer.

I was going to report that for me the problem has largely gone away, but I am getting it big time on the book I am editing at present - thre curs jumps to the end every time I click at the end of a line. Sometimes I can get round it by backspacing up from the next line, others not. As before, switching off Track Changes brings back the vanished text, but not always. I have tried copying and pasting the entire text into a new word file, but it doesn't help. It does seem that it affects some files more than others, almost as if there is a bug in them. What's puzzling is that this is not an on-off, yes/no problem - it operates unpredictably.

This doesn't work for me. As many others have noted, I am a professional editor and edit with "Track Changes" on. I use the Simple Mark-up view because the full one is too distracting. Even with Simple Mark-up, I still have this problem.
