Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document. 

When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

    I was going to report that for me the problem has largely gone away, but I am getting it big time on the book I am editing at present - thre curs jumps to the end every time I click at the end of a line. Sometimes I can get round it by backspacing up from the next line, others not. As before, switching off Track Changes brings back the vanished text, but not always. I have tried copying and pasting the entire text into a new word file, but it doesn't help. It does seem that it affects some files more than others, almost as if there is a bug in them. What's puzzling is that this is not an on-off, yes/no problem - it operates unpredictably.

    Same. It must be baked into older documents. And maybe even newer ones. I just experienced it again this week with a document new to me, but it's guaranteed to happen with files I worked with in the past six months or so. It's beyond belief the MS Word team would release this bug into the wild. Like, they use Word, right?

    Have the same problem for months now. so random. I've turned the reversed-P button to see any style, couldn't find any. but every now and then, the cursor jumps to the end of the doc when i delete, or even type . so frustating.

    Having the same issue and it does not disappear when I switch off the track-change option :( really irritating. looking forward for your reply and hopefully the fix for this
