Hello,

For the past week and a half, the microsoft powerpoint app on the ipad continuously has been crashing whenever I try to use it. Prior to this, it worked just fine but the problems started recently. It sometimes crashes when i try to open a powerpoint, and sometimes crashes mid note taking after working for several minutes. I use this app for class and I have an exam coming up, and it has been very frustrating trying to take notes when my latest notes keep disappearing every time it crashes. Is there any way this can be fixed?

I have looked at other people who have had the same issues. I have tried restarting the app, uninstalling and reinstalling, updating. None of it has worked so far. In terms of file sizes even presentations that worked perfectly before are crashing now. I cannot recall if there was an app update in the past week or so, but other than that there have been no changes to the ipad or powerpoint. My ios is up to date and so is the app.

I have 2 iPad Pros. The 1st Gen with iOS 14.7.1 and PowerPoint 2.52 crashes all the time! The 2nd Gen with 14.4.2 and 2.51 works without issue. Both are using the same 1st Gen pencil. Both are using .ppt files loaded with hand written materials.

This is a HUGE issue that needs resolution. The school year has just begun and all of my work is completed through the iPad. The second (working iPad) is a loaner that I need to return to the owner.

    Help!!!!!

ps I have done all of the “stuff” that has been recommended

I'm running the 4th generation iPad Air that's up to date on 14.7.1. Ever since the Office app updates that occurred yesterday, I've been experiencing the same issue. I've attempted resetting PowerPoint, deleting and redownloading the office apps, and even doing a factory reset in an effort to get the older version of PowerPoint back that wasn't having crashing issues.

Microsoft support seems to be running in circles and I was wondering if anyone has come up with a solution yet.

I am also having the same issue. As others have noted, I seem to be experiencing the issue more with handwritten notes. I am using an apple pencil (1st generation) and an iPad (6th generation). I have uninstalled and reinstalled powerpoint, restarted my iPad, etc. It gets marginally better when I reduce the size of the powerpoint, but it is unreasonable for me to have to break up my PowerPoints into multiple parts just to be able to use the app. I am a medical student and I use this app for taking notes. Like everyone else, I really need the app to work. Where are we in the process of getting help from internal support?
