Microsoft powerpoint on Ipad Air keeps crashing

Hello,

For the past week and a half, the microsoft powerpoint app on the ipad continuously has been crashing whenever I try to use it. Prior to this, it worked just fine but the problems started recently. It sometimes crashes when i try to open a powerpoint, and sometimes crashes mid note taking after working for several minutes. I use this app for class and I have an exam coming up, and it has been very frustrating trying to take notes when my latest notes keep disappearing every time it crashes. Is there any way this can be fixed?

I have looked at other people who have had the same issues. I have tried restarting the app, uninstalling and reinstalling, updating. None of it has worked so far. In terms of file sizes even presentations that worked perfectly before are crashing now. I cannot recall if there was an app update in the past week or so, but other than that there have been no changes to the ipad or powerpoint. My ios is up to date and so is the app.

    My slides are 90%+ annotations with the Apple Pencil. I use these for math lessons. I’ve not seen a difference btw large and small files, as all of my existing files are large (200+ pages).

    I’ve converted some to Keynote. While the conversion is easy and most everything goes across the apps without issue, all of the annotations transfer as objects and not individual pixels. So you cannot just edit portions of what is written. For me, this is a big drawback.

    I’ve converted to .pdf, but I lose more detail and ease of presentation and real-time annotations are diminished.

    If I start from scratch (which would really cause a lot of pain and agony), I would use Keynote.

    Google slides is terrible!

    I have latest iOS and Powerpoint and Office 365 apps (on new iPad pro) through the education subscription. It seems to be the amount of annotation I do. Once i get up to certain quantity of slides with annotation is when the problems start occurring and I am essentially unable to save any new annotations after this point. It will freeze on the closing/saving screen. However, my other other presentations containing less slides are still fine and can be annotated and saved without issue. Has anybody found a work-around yet? I'll be teaching soon and this really makes it unusable as it only takes about 8 slides or so before the problem seems to start. I'm think of purchasing a 1-year subscription to the OfficeSuite docs & PDF editor app, which allows annotating .ppt -- does anyone have any experience with this one? Or other suggestions?

    I am having same issue on my update 7th gen. Started today and I am trying to find a solution. I also find that it crashes quicker when I try to use my Apple Pencil.

    I am having the same issue when using my apple pencil to write out notes. I have the new iPad and latest version of both iOS and microsoft. It continues to crash in the middle of lectures. I am in pharmacy school and this is absolutely necessary for my learning. Frustrating that this has not been fixed yet

    I guess at least it's not just me. I was trying to lecture this morning and it crashes every couple of minutes.

    Anyone have any good powerpoint alternatives?
