External Data Refresh Failed

Had no problems on an existing spreadsheet for months.  I am pulling in stock quotes.  Today I started getting this message:

External Data Refresh Failed  "We refreshed some of your data, but we couldn't refresh all of it because we changed or removed it on our side.  For data we can no longer refresh, we've kept the most recent results.

How do I fix it and how do I identify the cells that are not refreshing?

    Hello,

    I on the other hand found this to be helpful. I opened up a new spreadsheet and tested it briefly and did not get this error after pressing "refresh all". Now is my question, how do I correct whatever is wrong in my current spreadsheet without starting all over? Because I continue to get the same error in my current spreadsheet. This is an issue because I track everything for many clients in this spreadsheet and there are over a hundred worksheets within the workbook that is giving me this error. I need to find out what is not updating and I need to correct the issue within this workbook. It would take me me a month or two to completely redo everything in a new spreadsheet.

    Hey! I just figured it out. In my master workbook, I have a ton of tabs but each client's stocks are tied back to one master worksheet. I copy/pasted all of the symbols on that spreadsheet into a new spreadsheet, then deleted all of the stocks on that master worksheet that has been giving me an error and made them "general format" instead of "stock format". Then I copy and pasted all the symbols back where I want them, made them "stock format" again, refreshed all and it worked! Phew! So, I recommend going to each place where you have a stock that is formatted and then try this, the redo that part. It took me like 3 minutes once I figured it out and all of the 100+ client worksheets that are formatted back to that worksheet, still had the same formulas so everything was fixed and spared. Hope that helps!

    Glad to hear that worked for you.  It's been three days since since I "fixed" my spreadsheet by manually re-entering the stocks, and it is still working fine without throwing any error messages.

    I am getting this error again on the same workbook... Ugh...

    The uninstall/reuninstall procedure worked before, and I'll probably try it again.

    First I'm going to review the new comments to see if anyone's found any better solutions as the uninstall/reinstall process in total takes ~30 - 45 minutes.
