External Data Refresh Failed

Any idea the process to address this with excel as part of office 365? The formula tab does not offer all of the options you mentioned. Thank you!!

Your fix completely solved my problem. I have a gigantic multi-sheet workbook and your fix helped me find all the fields that were not updating correcting. Now I can refresh the whole workbook without getting any error. Such a pleasure. Thank you so much! One small, unimportant issue came up though: when I clicked "Resume", as you instructed, I did not get A LIST of problematic cells; instead I was just brought to the next problematic cell. I used this to manually fix each problematic cell. When you clicked "resume", did you really get a list of problematic cells?

Go to the Formulas tab. In the Formula Auditing section, click Error Checking. In the lower left of the resulting window, click on Options. At the bottom of the resulting window is a section titled, Error Checking Rules. Deselect everything except, "Cells containing data types that couldn't refresh." Click OK. Click Resume. You should then get a list of the problematic stock data cells.

I just recently had this problem. It ended up being related to a Stock ticker that was delisted: USCR.

Once I finally recalled that USCR had been bought out, I went to the cells that contained the USCR stock market reference, and I noticed that Excel had flagged the cell with a little blue triangle in the corner of the cell. When I hovered my mouse over the cell, it indicated that it was indeed the culprit causing the error message. So I reentered USCR manually, and used Ctrl-Z to undo the auto conversion to a stock ticker, and replace the old stock quote with a manual one. And now I no longer get the errors.

I would love it if there was a way to have Excel jump to flagged cells.
