External Data Refresh Failed

I now have the EXACT same problem: i had no problem refreshing stock data for months in excel 365, and then all of a sudden, as of a few days ago, every time i click refresh i get that same error message:

"we refreshed some of your data but we couldn't refresh all of it because we changed or removed it on our side...."

NB: I use stock data in many excel documents, but only one of those documents (a very large one) gives me that error when I click refresh.  my smaller documents do not give me that error.  I wish there were a way for me to search the large document to find which fields are not refreshing, so that I can delete them, so that I can avoid getting that error. Anyone know a way to find the fields that are not refreshing?

That's hysterical.  I'm using Office 365 online (ie not a locally installed copy) and have this problem - so it probably means that if only MS would UNINSTALL and REINSTALL their cloud version in Azure it would probably fix the problem for everyone.

I just updated to last Office 365 (update January 2021) and this issue occurs: "We refreshed some of your data, but we couldn’t refresh all of it because we changed or removed it on our side. For the data we can no longer refresh, we’ve kept the most recent results."

Unable to see which fields are updated and which are not. Thanks a lot MS ! Very unprofessional.

I have a complex and large sheet with Stock Data which is now totally unreliable ???

I just finished my support call with Microsoft. In my case, the issue was fully resolved by uninstalling Office and then reinstalling. The process took about 15 minutes total.

You can try this yourself:

1. Uninstall Office from a PC - Office Support (microsoft.com) <-- use the automated uninstaller in Option 2
2. Reboot the PC
3. Check your "add/remove programs" screen after the automated process has finished, and manually uninstall any additional references to any office apps (Office, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)
4. Potentially reboot the PC again here
5. Reinstall the Office 365 suite after logging in at https://www.office.com/
6. Run office and then tell it to download updates (the installed version doesn't support Stocks data type, so the updates are required)
7. Potentially reboot the PC again here
8. After updating, verify that your file refreshes properly

That fixed the issues on my PC.
