External Data Refresh Failed

I'm glad you got it solved.  The problem for me is that my document has thousands of stock fields in it.  So there is no way I can delete all the "stock" fields and then re-input them.  that would take me days.  But I'm glad at least someone in this forum has found a solution :-)  Also, maybe microsoft can see your experience and use that to figure out how to solve this on their end for all of us.  🙏🙏

I agree.  I found that posting above (the one that suggested that we report this issue to this team and to that team) to be aggravating and ridiculous.  It was so convoluted and ridiculous.  Microsoft should assign the problem to the appropriate team, not have us do that leg work for them.

Ok, that didn't take long at all.  I deleted every stock data cell in my spreadsheet that was giving the error every time I clicked Refresh.  Then I re-added the symbols and made them "stock data" again.  Problem solved!  My spreadsheet is now updating without throwing that annoying error message that so many others have reported on here.  I don't understand why this works, but it worked for me.

Very interesting.  I opend a totally blank spreadsheet and added one stock and next to it the stock price.  No error message!   So then I added a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, all the way up to the ten stocks in my master spreadsheet.  No error messages!  But my master spreadsheet with the same 10 stocks throws an error message every time I click refresh even though the ten stocks are updating correctly.  Very strange!

When I have a bit more time later today, I will go into my master spreadsheet and delete all the stock data cells, then re-add them one by one to see if that eliminates the error message.  I will post the results on here when finished.
