I usually copy and paste cells from Microsoft Excel to Gmail for work, this was was being pasted as an table of text that I could edit.
Then my computer was reformatted because of some issues and now after trying to use it again for work, I tried copying cells from Excel and pasting it in Gmail as usual, but now the cells aren't being pasted as a table, but as an image, like a screenshot of the cells. Could it be a software I had before or something?
Now the only way I can copy and paste cells from Excel is to go through Word, which adds an extra step.
I tried reinstalling MS Office, and it still didn't work, I'm currently using Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019.

This has been reported by our users as well. A solution would be helpful.
a work around has been helpful for now, copy from excel > paste to MS word > paste to gmail.
but there is nothing like having things work as they should or have been.

The clipboard keeps the data as an excel table. The proof for this is you can paste it as plain text on gmail and as a normal formatted table on Google Sheets and as well onto Word.
The issue is only between Gmail (Chrome. Firefox) and Windows. I am itching to get a fix on this as it is a detriment to our normal working style.
Will the real culprit please stand up?
We are also facing this issue in our office almost 50 aroud users.
And it looks like Google has done some changes or security on our services.
as copy-paste is normal on a google sheet.
but from any other desktop or local system software are not able to paste as a table. its converted to image.
and Google Chat is also doing the same now.
Please help Microsoft team as we are using MS office in our office and don't want to use google sheet as a primary tool forcefully.
There's no issue if copy/paste from Google Sheets... May be someone decided to push in this direction?!
I think it's a gmail issue. I've also been copy pasting for years with excel 2016 and now 2019 without any formatting issues. I've just tried with 2016 also. Doesn't work. The soft developers probably thought "Oh guys, I've got an idea, let's make excel spreadsheet data unusable by transforming it into an image. People will love it"
