I have used the Merge to Email feature in Word to merge emails to Outlook hundreds of time. It isn't currently working. I use a Mac.
I've restarted my computer.
I've deleted Microsoft Office apps and reinstalled
I've created a new document with no formatting
I've changed fonts (to Calibir Light, to Times New Roman)
Have tried with two different email accounts and two different computers within my organizatoin
and still nothing....
It will either send one email to the first name in my Excel listing of emails or nothing at all. Always get the same error message.

I've tried everything - installing updates to my mac, installing updates to Microsoft Word & Excel (to 16.39), and then uninstalling all of Office back to 16.38. I've put all of the previous versions in the trash as well.
I've changed fonts as well, and done everything, but the verdict is still "Microsoft Word cannot mail your document." This has been driving me crazy, and I have a job when I have to use a lot of mail merge. This is going to cost me hours!
Any help or other ideas would be welcome. This has been terrible for the past month or so!
I followed these steps and downgraded to 16.38. It still does not work. I have been using mail merge in Word for Mac with no issues every week since the Covid-19 epidemic started in March. I need this feature to communicate with my students. In addition to removing 16.39, I made sure my default mail client was 16.38.
After a restart and choosing text not HTML, it did indeed work. I'm not sure if it was the restart or choosing text.
It would be good if someone tested updates before they are hoisted upon us. If I wanted to be a beta tester, I would expect to be paid.
make sure you have turned auto updates off. Mine kept updating back to 16.39 check the version you are using for outlook and word. Drove me crazy for 2 days. once I turned off the auto update and deleted the 16.39 version all was well.
