I've received advice from our a Microsoft Account Manager - Education Sector at Microsoft (Australia) which in part says:
"Ahead of students coming back to school after the Easter break, we had been working to put appropriate solutions in place to mitigate any issues that could arise from the anticipated increase in demand of our services for remote learning.
However, as schools returned in Queensland today and Victoria last week we have been made aware of SharePoint Online and OneNote Class Notebook experience issues.
We want to assure you that our most senior engineers and support teams are working with our impacted customers, to help resolve these issues. In addition, our executive
engineering leadership is directly involved in tracking and guiding our response."
My suggestion, for any Australian / New Zealand Education Customers, would be to ensure your own internal technical support teams are aware of the OneNote issues you are experiencing, and encourage them to reach out to their Microsoft
Education Account Manager, Microsoft Education Specialists, or Microsoft Technical Account Managers to ensure that your own issues are registered and eventually resolved as Microsoft adds additional resources and load balancing to cope with the rapid uptake
due to the Corona Virus lead remote learning.
