Onenote sync issue error E000283C

It's good for Microsoft to know that the scope of the problem extends past the Education Tenancies.

I'd imagine its extremely difficult times for small business at the moment.

I hope Microsoft are listening / monitoring this thread and address your problems too.

My suggestion, for any Australian / New Zealand Education Customers, would be to ensure your own internal technical support teams are aware of the OneNote issues you are experiencing, and encourage them to reach out to their Microsoft Education Account Manager, Microsoft Education Specialists, or Microsoft Technical Account Managers to ensure that your own issues are registered and eventually resolved as Microsoft adds additional resources and load balancing to cope with the rapid uptake due to the Corona Virus lead remote learning. 

This isn't just a sharepoint/education user issue. It is OneNote AUS wide. We have nothing to do with education, are a company with 4 users sharing notebooks and them not syncing with the errors and conditions described throughout this thread. We use OneNote and the data is stored on OneDrive which is, AFAICT, the syncing mechanism. 

I understand the education user base is fairly large and the recent surge in educational users has probably caused this issue (not blame, simply likely because the of huge demand not previously experienced).

My point is we need a fix for everyone, not just students and teachers

I've received advice from our a Microsoft Account Manager - Education Sector at Microsoft (Australia) which in part says:

"Ahead of students coming back to school after the Easter break, we had been working to put appropriate solutions in place to mitigate any issues that could arise from the anticipated increase in demand of our services for remote learning.

However, as schools returned in Queensland today and Victoria last week we have been made aware of  SharePoint Online and OneNote Class Notebook experience issues. 

We want to assure you that our most senior engineers and support teams are working with our impacted customers, to help resolve these issues. In addition, our executive engineering leadership is directly involved in tracking and guiding our response."

We've experienced the same drop in performance / connectivity availability as Stargamer at 11:20an (NZST).

The Windows 10 OneNote Desktop client was syncing reasonably well at 8am (GMT +10) in Sydney Aust. But from at least  12:30pm (GMT+10) we're seeing the  "Saved offline (error)" and corresponding htttp 500 errors in a corresponding fiddler trace to: https://[tennantdomainname].sharepoint.com/sites/[MS Team Name]
