OneNote shows weird line when drawing (also lags when drawing) Huion Kamvas Pro

Hi everyone,

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I have a link to a video showing the issue here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VqyMS33GUQ&feature=youtu.be . 

This problem only happens when using my tablet's pen to draw, if I switch to mouse mode, it works fine. I also experience weird lag when using the pen, which you can briefly see in the video.

I really enjoy using OneNote and I don't want to stop, however if I can't get rid of this bug I have no alternative but to find another program. Here are some things I have tried to fix the solution.

  1. Reinstallation. I have reinstalled the product, event completely removing it through powershell then reinstalling it by following some guides, the issue persists.
  2. Looking in settings. I have looked through the settings enabling and disabling multiple options to no avail.
  3. Starting a new page/notebook. I have tried starting a fresh page, and the problem still persists.
  4. Messing with tablet settings. I have messed with my wacom tablet's settings, recalibrating the touch pen and everything but nothing seems to work.

    Have you actually tested this? I feel like the problem would show up once again after awhile since it seems to disappear and reappear randomly. I'm hesitant to factory reset my device unless I know for certain it will work and never break again haha.

    And I would have to disagree about a factory reset being a solution, that's quite drastic and should not be considered for your consumers. If Microsoft's program has a bug, they should probably fix it.

    Of course I did. Why would I say that if it didn't work for me?

    I can factory reset mine because I just bought this laptop about two months ago and there's not a lot of files that needed to be backup.

    I think the reason why that happened to my OneNote is I copied and pasted a big drawing file to another section and as of now, I am not experiencing that problem. 

    And btw, I do not work for Microsoft like you said "your consumers."

    I too have been having this issue and only resolve is to reboot and it is just a band aid fix.  I am using a homebrew gaming machine with lots of CPU\GPU\RAM\NVRAM performance.  I use this tool for drawing half my work day so it is important and prefer the UWP over the desktop app.  I factory reset about 4 weeks ago in hopes to resolve this and it did work for a while until a few days ago.  Rebooted and was fine until today again.  Memory leak in the code or what?  Really wish they could resolve this.  

    BTW: also tried another notebook and MS account and still the issue persists unless i reboot.

    I have been having the same issue with Word.  It had worked fine for months and then just started doing this last week.

    I'm having trouble sorting through everything here.  Is there a solution yet?

    I had the same problem using OneNote for Windows 10 Version 16001.13127.20190.0 on a Microsoft Surface GO.  Microsoft Pen became unusable but worked fine on Paint.  Tried OneNote repair, and uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows graphics driver, but they did not help.

    The fix that worked for me was posted by Warren Yazzie for this same problem and it was “Windows Update”, but there is an extra detail you have to be aware of.  If you click on “Check for updates” it can tell you that “You’re up to date”.  However, the trick is that just below the "Check for Update" button there was a "View Optional Updates" link which shows up if "Optional Updates" are available”.

    I had an "Optional Update" available and found an update under the "Other updates". I downloaded and installed the update.  After restarting, my Pen works fine again.
