Error message when opening word doc: "Not Implemented" (Word for Windows)

Hi,

When I try to access a word doc from the folder, after clicking on it an error appears that only says "Not Implemented".

I have restarted and updated my computer and used the repair function for Microsoft word, but to no avail. I am fortunately able to access the document by first opening word then opening the document that way, but I would like to simply find the file I am looking for and open it that way.

    Ok, I found the administrator mode for command prompt.

    The command is running now

    The program found corrupted files and repaired them.

    The issue was off ... until this morning !

    In other words, the System File Checker fixed the problem—but again only temporary.

    There must be something on your system that is causing the problem to come back. The difficult part is figuring out what that "something" is. 

    If the problem exists exclusively in Office programs, you could try a complete uninstallation using the Uninstall support tool (see Option 2 in the article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/uninstall-office-from-a-pc-9dd49b83-264a-477a-8fcc-2fdf5dbf61d8) and then start fresh with a reinstallation through your account.

    But shall I have to give the license number again, after re-installation ?

    It depends on the type of installation you have. Usually, you can reinstall Office via your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services without a product key. 

    Which specific version of Office is this? Office Home & Business? Office Home & Student? Or a subscription (such as Microsoft 365)?

    Note that versions which make use of volume licensing are treated differently; also, they can't be legally sold to consumers.
