Error message when opening word doc: "Not Implemented" (Word for Windows)

Hi,

When I try to access a word doc from the folder, after clicking on it an error appears that only says "Not Implemented".

I have restarted and updated my computer and used the repair function for Microsoft word, but to no avail. I am fortunately able to access the document by first opening word then opening the document that way, but I would like to simply find the file I am looking for and open it that way.

    Must I repair "Microsoft Office Desktop Apps" ?

    Which version of Office have you installed and which operating system are you running?

    On Windows, the "not implemented" message could indicate a problem with activation.

    As a first step, try repairing Office (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b).

    If you have already done that, continue troubleshooting add-ins; see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/troubleshoot/word/issues-when-start-or-use-word.

    Hi Stefan,

    Your solution fixes the problem during one hour or so, then it starts again.

    Again, I have no problem when the file is directly on the desktop, or when i "paste shortcut" of a file i can't normally open.

    Since the issue is coming back, there must be an underlying cause.

    You are still seeing the message no matter if you double-click a Word document or if you start Word first and then browse for a document?
