Error message when opening word doc: "Not Implemented" (Word for Windows)

Hi,

When I try to access a word doc from the folder, after clicking on it an error appears that only says "Not Implemented".

I have restarted and updated my computer and used the repair function for Microsoft word, but to no avail. I am fortunately able to access the document by first opening word then opening the document that way, but I would like to simply find the file I am looking for and open it that way.

    Adding to the chorus.

    Have the same problem.

    Only started happening today.

    Makes it very frustrating to get any work done as I'm frequently grabbing files from multiple folders.

    Another person here to say I'm having the same issue. I just reinstalled Office and the problem went away, but I've done this before and it has come back after a few days so I'll update if it persists.

    I'm having this issue when opening files from Windows Explorer in Excel (Office 365 version), since the most recent Windows 10 update forced itself on me.

    It was actually all Office 365 files....

    It seems that the Windows update hadn't finished, and I had to go into updates and restart it, and reboot a couple of times until the update "restart required" icon stopped appearing in the notifications area

    For now, xls, xlsx, doc, docx files are now opening from Explorer
