Error message when opening word doc: "Not Implemented" (Word for Windows)

Hi,

When I try to access a word doc from the folder, after clicking on it an error appears that only says "Not Implemented".

I have restarted and updated my computer and used the repair function for Microsoft word, but to no avail. I am fortunately able to access the document by first opening word then opening the document that way, but I would like to simply find the file I am looking for and open it that way.

    No cleaning software.

    But, I remember now that the issue began about the same time that I uninstall Forticlient, the procedure of which being quite complicated (asystem engineer I know did it, cause I couldn't on my own). May be should I ask him ...

    Issues with double-clicking Word document icons would usually indicate a problem with file associations; repairing Office would then fix the issue permanently. Of course, the strange thing here is that it happens only for documents in certain locations.

    The fact that the issue is intermittent makes it difficult to troubleshoot. 

    Are you running some sort of third-party "cleaning" software (such as CCleaner) and, in that case, are you letting it modify the registry?

    Only if I double-click a Word (or Excel) document that is in a folder.

    If I start Word or Excel first, there is no message.

    I specify that there is absolutely no problem with other type of documents (pdf, jpg, ...)

    Since the issue is coming back, there must be an underlying cause.

    You are still seeing the message no matter if you double-click a Word document or if you start Word first and then browse for a document?

    Hi Stefan,

    Your solution fixes the problem during one hour or so, then it starts again.

    Again, I have no problem when the file is directly on the desktop, or when i "paste shortcut" of a file i can't normally open.
