Error message when opening word doc: "Not Implemented" (Word for Windows)

Hi,

When I try to access a word doc from the folder, after clicking on it an error appears that only says "Not Implemented".

I have restarted and updated my computer and used the repair function for Microsoft word, but to no avail. I am fortunately able to access the document by first opening word then opening the document that way, but I would like to simply find the file I am looking for and open it that way.

    I am having the same problem with 'Not implemented' error.  I can do an Open with MS Word and it works.

    Ok I found the key with your link.

    Meanwhile, I tested the issue with another user session, and there is ... no issue at all (until right now).

    And the icons are not the same ones between the two user sessions :

    The left one is from the session where it works. The right one is from the session where there is the issue.

    The pdf icons are not the same, too, for example.

    In other words, the System File Checker fixed the problem—but again only temporary.

    There must be something on your system that is causing the problem to come back. The difficult part is figuring out what that "something" is. 

    If the problem exists exclusively in Office programs, you could try a complete uninstallation using the Uninstall support tool (see Option 2 in the article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/uninstall-office-from-a-pc-9dd49b83-264a-477a-8fcc-2fdf5dbf61d8) and then start fresh with a reinstallation through your account.
