I have the same problem. It was working properly, but since last week, I am not able to use it. Plus, I cannot make my bibliography in alphabetical order. It is also new and extremely annoying. I tried everything written here. Nothing worked. My whole thesis can be wasted because of this!

Candan, I believe you have to install the latest updates of Word. But the current problem is that the Word does not register any of the bibliographical references I use in the master list. I have to re-write all of the references again and again in any single document I write. And Microsoft has no solution to this yet.

Candan and Atilla; I am also writing my thesis with a bibliography that is not working.

I managed to find a solution, however, I did not solve the problem.

I am writing my thesis on a Mac. I have sent the document via email and opened it on a Windows computer. Then, I made a correct bibliography list, by using the function in Word, and sent it back to my Mac. Now, I am manually adjusting every new source into my bibliography list as Word is completely crashing if I use the function in Word.
