When I try to copy and paste text from the OneNote mobile iOS app to the Messages app, it pastes an HTML file with the text instead of only the text. This is a new issue. In the past, I was always able to copy text from OneNote, and paste the text to the Messages app. I cannot find any settings in the OneNote app or the Messages app that would seem to help.

Carlosde, I couldn’t agree more. I too have been migrating my OneNote stuff over to Evernote. Never thought I’d have to do this, it’s quite disappointing. But even more disappointing is this has been brought to their attention and nothing has been done for too long now. Shame on you Microsoft.
I work remotely with a remote team. Text is how my team often troubleshoots issues. To be able to bang out copy on OneNote (texts can be on the long side) and send it via text on my iPhone is critical.
But … I've been struggling with this copy/paste issue for some time. Texts appear as an HTML file.
I'm at my wit's end—so much so that I’m looking at having to export my huge catalog of content to Evernote. But the exercise of cutting-and-pasting to a third-party app before cutting-and-pasting to send a long text to my team is a colossal pain in the rear.
If there’s a fix, I'd love to know it. If not, it was nice knowing OneNote, but this simple feature should not go unresolved.
I have had this issue for months if not a year. It's quite inconvenient. I can copy from OneNote and paste into an email draft, then copy the pasted text from the email and paste it in Messages and it works. But straight from OneNote to Messages it changes to an html file every time.
I'm having the same issue. I called Microsoft to ask about it, but just read this thread. I will wait then.
Not a solution but I've stopped using OneNote and am using Evernote instead.
