Copy and Paste Text from OneNote mobile iOS app to the Messages App

When I try to copy and paste text from the OneNote mobile iOS app to the Messages app, it pastes an HTML file with the text instead of only the text.  This is a new issue. In the past, I was always able to copy text from OneNote, and paste the text to the Messages app.  I cannot find any settings in the OneNote app or the Messages app that would seem to help.

    I appreciate the suggestion about using share. I have observed it is limited to one paragraph or two lines of text (like an address, which in USA format is technically two paragraphs, but somehow it worked).

    this is helpful but still incredibly limiting. It is beyond frustrating that Microsoft hasn’t fixed this after years of complaints and feature requests. C’mon, man!

    That only works with single paragraphs of text only.  If the copy contains both text and a hyperlink you don't get the share option. 

    After reading this thread, my only workable recourse for this issue is to grab my mixed data copy, paste in Notes, copy from Notes, then paste into the message.

    Kinda clunky.

    It's a problem with how OneNote and messages interact. There's no "paste as text" option in messages, and no "copy as text" option in OneNote. Pasting to "Notes" automatically formats the whole block as text with a hyperlink rather than a link to an html file.

    I've read this thread with interest. I'm new to iPhone and I'm amazed that everybody's iPhone seems to be different. It it helps I'll post what I'm doing now. If it doesn't, just click on by ...

    I use OneNote for editing and sending mainly standard texts to guests at our holiday let to cover things like breakages and events not mentioned by the instructions on site. One-off texts often find their way into the instructions document. I used Evernote but was irritated by the constant flow of messages telling me to upgrade or to use more features. Evernote has now been shown the door. The following is what works on my iPhone;

    Open OneNote on the phone and get to the paragraph I want to send. Double tap on any word selects that word and brings up the menu. Tap 'select all' and then 'share'. Tap 'messages' (on my phone it's between AirDrop and Outlook) and it brings up the selected OneNote message as text in the text messages app, leaving me to type part of the recipient's name and then tap the green arrow to send.

    Many thanks to all who contributed so helpfully. I'm signing off now until something else gets fouled up.
