Copy and Paste Text from OneNote mobile iOS app to the Messages App

When I try to copy and paste text from the OneNote mobile iOS app to the Messages app, it pastes an HTML file with the text instead of only the text.  This is a new issue. In the past, I was always able to copy text from OneNote, and paste the text to the Messages app.  I cannot find any settings in the OneNote app or the Messages app that would seem to help.

    Hey everybody!

    I would like to update the community if you have not already noticed, I'm not sure if OneNote provided an update, or if it came with the iOS update 13.1 but the copy and paste feature has been fixed!!

    Testing with it today if multiple lines of text including hard and soft returns would copy and paste over without converting into an HTML document, and it now pastes as plain text!

    I have not tested with rich text or images yet. Plan on doing that later. Will update you then. 

    Want to send a big, big thank you to all the support staff and programmers for fixing this feature.

    It was encouraging to see Microsoft Agents responding to the original poster. Then, the replies stopped making me wonder if that’s just MS’s way if saying “we don’t have an answer and aren’t working on a solution“.  

    I too find this issue annoying (and aggravating when I’m pressed for time), but they have us over a barrel because of OneNote’s other strengths.  Please Microsoft, help us out, show us your programming prowess and code an elegant fix.

    I did not see that instead of selecting "Copy" directly, first selecting "Share..." then Copy from the list below the app icons will allow you to paste it into a text message as standard text.  So I can live with this until Microsoft fixes their software bug.

    I also have the same issue and have received the same reply from Apple: that this is a Microsoft OneNote problem.

    If you highlight any text from a OneNote Page, select copy, then go to messages and past it in, it pastes a "File_####.html" file into the message.  It happens with contacts who are iMessage partners as well as those who are SMS.  When you try to open the html file, the text is teeny-tiny in the upper right corner of the screen, much to small to read.

    I have an iPhone 11 running IOS 13.3.1 and my version of the OneNote app is 16.35.1, which was just updated 2 days ago.  It did actually remove it and reinstalled it again today.  That did not fix the issue.

    It would be nice if you could fix this issue.
