Looking at your screenshots, I see that you have single cells in your table with many lines of text. You do not have a single table "row" for each line of text.

You cannot enable internal borders because there are no internal borders. No gridlines will display inside a cell.

See the screenshot below. Note the end-of-cell markers.

In the screenshot you are in the "layout" tab. Just to the left of that when you have the table selected is the "table design" tab.

    Click on that.

There is a button near the far right that is called "borders". Click on that dropdown and choose the option you want.

The attached file is the button you should see and the dropdown it should have.

Instead of the Table Layout ribbon, click the Table Design ribbon. (Both of these ribbon tabs become available only when the selection is in the table.)

The quickest way to make all the horizontal lines visible is to click the corresponding style in the Table Styles gallery:

If you want a different thickness or color for the lines, first select the entire table (otherwise any changes you make will apply only to the selected cell). Then click the line thickness dropdown (the one that shows "1/2 pt" by default) and select the thickness, and/or click the Pen Color button and select the color. Then click the Borders button and click the Top Border, Bottom Border, and Inside Horizontal Border items. Each of these can have a different thickness or color than the others.

Are you referring to borders? In that case, use the Borders command on the Table Design tab. Borders will also print.

Note that if your table contains merged cells, these won't have any borders of their own.
