Excel slicer bug - slicer options are blurry

Hello all,

I've been working with Microsoft support and they're unwilling to assist in this manner, shockingly. However, they suggested I post here on the forum to see if anyone has any answers.

In short, my slicers are blurry. This clearly seems to be a bug, so not sure anyone will have answers, but has anyone experienced this? The slicers are blurry across files, and I've restarted the system. Interestingly, the slicers are not blurry when viewing the same files online. So, this must be a visualization issue within excel itself - not a file issue.

I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling Microsoft Office.

Thoughts anyone?

Morning Jesper,

Thanks for the prompt to check. Interestingly, it's working on my end now. I noticed the other day that Microsoft pushes an update to Excel, and now things are working. Looks like it was a Microsoft thing after all, as things look now. Have you updated?

    Glad we're all fixed!

Interestingly, I'm not 100% sure it was a microsoft thing as sometimes other variables (e.g., Mac OS) change over time, and cause things to break in certain programs. So, it could have just been a compatibility thing caused by a change somewhere else. Either way, I'm glad microsoft had the power to fix it and did.

    Hi

You can get build 16.34 if you have an Office 365 subscription and you also join the Office Insider program and choose Insider Slow track.

Go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel to reveal the license type. It must say Office 365 subscription in order for you to jump to the head of the line to get the 16.34 update. If your subscription is managed, then the subscription manager must allow you to join the Insider program.

If you do not have an Office 365 subscription or you don't mind waiting a few days, you should get the 16.34 build sometime next week. General release updates occur gradually throughout the week. Joining Insider slow will trigger an immediate update.

    Thanks!

I got the update by switching to the insider slow track and it solved everything.

So it was a Microsoft issue. Just as we thought.
