One Note - Hiding completed tasks once completed on Desktop

Where in One Note desktop version is the hide completed tasks from To Do lists. On my phone the completed tasks disappear but on the desktop they all remain making this a useless very long To Do list - finding open tasks is awful. Having to fully delete Tasks in To Do lists in Desktop OneNote leaves no record of ever doing the task. Often I want to check when I completed it - particularly with my work account. There should be an option in the ribbon to hide completed To Do's once completed. If it does exist I would love to know how to do it as I can't find it.

I have started using OneNote at work and on my personal account for organising and recording daily activities and this flaw is making me have to look at alternatives for To Do lists which is a shame, as the mobile version seems to have the functionality.

Regards

Julian Floyd

Seriously MSFT.  This is needed.  I love OneNote and use it all day, every day.  But just follow the lead of every other note-taking app in the world when it comes to To Do lists.  When a box is checked, move the checked items to the completed section.  Or something. Something different. Anything.

As a solution - albeit painful, I created a box on the right of my main to do list.  I cut and paste the checked items over on the right hand side while leaving the unchecked on the left.  Which has then turned into more of a Kanban approach.  It works, but it's not ideal.

Teams as a ToDo list which sync's into your Outlook to do's, which is nice, but too basic.

Google Keep's to-do functionality is amazing, but falls behind as a note taking app.  It's more like sticky notes.

Would love to see MSFT do something about this.

Following up from 6 months ago. Can someone from Microsoft acknowledge this issue?

    Issue:

We want to be able to hide completed tasks in a Task List on the Desktop OneNote App. Just like we can filter Outlook to see unread emails, we want the ability to view uncompleted tasks in OneNote and for the same rationale: to view only what needs to be done, not what is done.

Can Microsoft please reply with one of the following:

    1. We hear you but need to understand more about your issue
    2. We hear you and understand your issue, we are evaluating
    3. We heard you and a fix is coming
    4. We heard you and we're not going to add this functionality

    Please and thanks,

We are now at March of 2021 and nothing has changed and Microsoft has not responded to this thread at all. It is a simple programming fix that, obviously, users are begging for. I cannot fathom why this is so difficult. When the check box gets clicked, the item gets deleted.... you can even have a pop up box asking "are you sure?" if you want....

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!! Why can't this be as easy as a button. GEEEZ!!!

Users: We should start a go-fund me or a sign a petition letter thing and spread the word and make MS be ashamed of themselves. And make it go national , global, or at least on the internet. Lol. It's not that hard to program. Just check the value of the box and then hide. And if you create a summary list, PLEASE, make it keep the nested formatting it has on the original list. That way we know what goes where. Don't sort it and mess it up!!!!

*If a 90yr old man can make AT&T get attention using an ad on a magazine, and got them to fix his problem, imagine if this fix it went viral. It's not that hard to fix this/add this feature. GEEEZ. Lol.
