One Note - Hiding completed tasks once completed on Desktop

*Whoops , I didn't read far enough along in the comments. You guys know about the below, but just in case someone else might find it useful I'll leave it here.

So I was looking for this feature too. I wanted to have the items autohide when it was checked.

I came across this article about how to use tags in oneNote and it kind of gives me what I was looking for, and more.

You can tag the items with a star or a question mark and then from the home tab go to find tags. This brings up the tags summery window.

You can see your starred items, and your question-marked items, and there is actually a check box on the summary page that reads ''Show only unchecked items".

That's your baby.

But, now that I know how to use these tags, that's not even the best way to tweak lists.

@microsoft - it's about time this is fixed. It's a simple fix and a global problem that many have now commented on and really diminishes the use  of desktop OneDrive. I now use Apple reminders instead - I bet others are trying to find alternatives that work. 

I raised the initial thread in early 2020 and it's still not closed out... come on - get the job done!

I think we can ask a mod to close the topic.. it would probably take minimal development effort and I see plenty of interest in other topics and forums as well for this, but MS simply doesnt seem to give a **** about it.

The summary page is an option, however it's not all that great.

I use different pages, tabs or sections to group to do items by certain functions separately. The summary throws it all into one. I just want a darn button that says "hide completed items". I don't want to have to use a different app, I keep a ton of notes into OneNote which is the entire purpose.

I'm not sure if this will help, but I use my to do list on One Note in the "tags summary" option as this will pull my to do's from across the whole notebook, There is an option there to "only show unchecked items" which works well for me.

I appreciate this is not helpful or anyone who writes a to do list all in one place rather than using the tags summary.

A work around could be to use the tags summary to generate your to do list --> select "only show unchecked items" and then --> "Create Summary Page". This should create a summary page for you with only the unchecked items. You would, however, have to update this periodically to get rid of the checked items until MS fix this! But it could help in the meantime!
