Excel crash after update to version 2001 12430.20050

Hi all,

Since version 2001 2430.20050 , Excel is no longer responding as it should :

  • Save as - Browse : no exporer window is shown
  • New file - Save : file is not saved, on exit excel the confirmation window is shown every time over when replying "yes" on the question to save the file
  • file - options - addins - manage excel addins : when clicking the button, excel crashes

Tried this on different hardware with different accounts, they all react the same.

A solution is highly apreciated.

Related Microsoft team stated that this incident i.e. OP200466 has been resolved as of Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 4:26 PM UTC. Affected users can download an update that will fully mitigate this issue. If still problem persists, you can feel free to post back to us.

    Hi Kris,

    Sorry for the trouble caused at your end.

    As per your description, you’re encountering the problems with Excel application in latest version of Monthly Channel Targeted, we tested in the same version i.e. 2001 (Build 12430.20050) and can’t reproduce any behavior as stated.

    So, can you please the following suggestions and check the outcome:

    a. Open Excel application in Safe mode and test it.

    b. Try to Online repair Office applications. Refer to this article: Repair an Office application.

    If the problem persists, can you please provide the following information:

    a. Product Information of your Office applications. (Open any Office application> Account)

    b. Did you encounter similar behaviors in other Office applications like Word or PowerPoint?

    Hi Chitrahaas,

    Your suggestions have been tested :

    • safe mode : excel is reacting the same way as in n****fference

    P****on 2001 (build 12430.20050)

    No problems with the ****te.

    One of my collegues encountered this problem this morning, since we've been testing, and uprading some other computers to the latest build of O365.   Since this upgrade all machines react the same way.  We even did an install on a machine that is no part of our network or domain (home computer).   Even this computer is encountering the same problems.

    Hi Chitrahaas,

    My previous message looks a bit messy...  

    Just to be clear : both the solutions you suggested are not working

    We don't have any problems with Word or Powerpoint .

    The information provided under account is "Microsoft office 365 business" Version 2001 Build 1243.20050
