Word for Mac 16.25 cannot remember window size

I just updated to word for Mac 16.25. Word no longer remembers the sizing of the document, and always opens to a very small window. Never happened before the update.

Hi All,

We have received several reports about the same issue recently. For others to easily identify the information here, I’m summarizing the issue as follows:

Issue description:

After updating to version 16.25 (190512), Word for Mac can no loner remember the window size closed last time. It always opens at a fixed size.

Environment:

Word for Mac version 16.25 (190512) on all three latest version of Mac OS.

Assessment:

We can reproduce the same behavior on our side. And we are reporting the issue to our related team for further investigation. Once there is any update, we will post back as soon as possible. As a workaround, you can open the Word for Mac application first and open the file from the recent list or from the File menu.

    Afraid not. I am running 16.27 (19052910) from the insider ring and it is still not fixed there.

    One possible factor which may be relevant (or not) is that if you look in the Templates Organiser (Tools->Templates and Add-ins... -> Organiser->Styles) you can see what parameters can be stored in the normal.dotm template. There is no parameter there for window size - can someone look in an earlier version such as 16.24 and see whether it was possible to save this parameter into the template then?

    I would imagine that the default window size would be stored in the normal.dorm template as I think this was always the case in the past, but this may not be the case, or alternatively it may have been changed in 16.25 leading to our current issue.

    There are unconfirmed reports that this problem was fixed in build 16.26

    This has been going on for ever now.  The June 11 update does not even mention this issue. Are MS taking this seriously or shall I finally migrate to Pages?
