OneNote 2010 all sections and pages are empty! Please help me!

Hello all!

My notebooks are located in the OneDrive cloud storage. I can access and work with my notebooks via web-interface in browser and via OneNote app in my Android phone. But on the OneNote 2010 which is a part of Office 2010 I have this issue when I try to open my notebooks:

"There are no sections open in this notebook or section group"

Also when I try to open notebooks I receive this error message:

How can I solve this issue?

I would be grateful to you.

    Same problem,  with everyone else:

    As I was working on Onenote 2010 (V14.0.7237.5000) (win10 PRO), my content started vanishing. I ended up with blanc workbooks. Nothing else showed. Neither sections or pages.

    I checked with my Ipad, Iphone, no problems there.

    So I visited onenote.com. Everything looked fine.

    I tried to "open in app" different pages (on the web). No way.

    Check with my local IT if there is any blocked port, none.

    HELP....

    Hi brunocallis,

    When you try to open in the app, what happens?

    Do the notebooks even show for selection to open?

    Are the pages not opening after you select a notebook?

    Any other information?

    MS is probably intentionally not reacting to this Onenote 2010 issue here or anywhere else in blogs. GrantSRobertson's post seems to bring it to the most likely point: https://www.reddit.com/r/OneNote/comments/eulxot/onenote_2010_notebooks_suddenly_disappeared/ffsr6yj/

    Thus: upgrade to at least Office 2019 or Office 365, or work only with local notebooks. The latter is probably not a sustainable option for the future: https://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Microsoft-Office-2019-ohne-OneNote-4026969.html (german)

    As a workaround you can try this: Onenote as UWP-App (UWP = Universal Windows Plattform, the "Store" Apps for Desktop) can use the online notebooks. But it is just as limited as the web application - which is logical as they both are free.

    BTW: Does anyone know how to export an online notebook to make it a local one? Or the path to locally stored copies?

    Hope is that MS promises to gradually bring functionality of the UWP-App to a level comparable with Onenote 2016. But no more local notebooks in the future. (see the heise-link)

    Is this just limited to OneNote from Office 2010?  What about OneNote from Office 2013 or 2016?  I understand 2019 will only run on Windows 10.  Eventually I will upgrade both of the PCs to Windows 10.  My laptop is already running 10 with local installed Office 2016. 

    When I upgrade the PC I want to do a total rebuild on new hardware.  One PC could be an issue.  I have an IEEE-488 buss card in it.  I know the software will run on Windows 10 but the card buss might not be available on current motherboards.  I don't recall what buss this card is using.

    So I would like to keep OneNote 2010 working a while longer on these Windows 7 PCs. 

    I seems interesting that OneNote 2010 stopped working a few days after MS ended support for Windows 7.  I know they want to push everyone to Windows 10 with subscription based Office 365.
