Printing to OneNote Windows 10 app cuts off margins of all documents with no controls to fix!

My users have been suffering with this every day since we were forced to use OneNote Windows 10 after MS ripped it out of the Office 365 installer.  We are rolling out Teams and heavily rely on OneNote to "print" documents into the Team Notebooks.  I have called o365 support, they told me I now have to pay Windows support since our problem is in OneNote Win 10 and not OneNote 2016 so they no longer support OneNote.  I have submitted feedback via the OneNote Win 10 app, I've submitted in UserVoice, I've commented on other's questions here and also in other's user voice submissions.  I've seen no response from anyone on the OneNote team as to why such a fundamentally simple problem ever made it into the wild and why no one will fix this simple problem.

What is probably most frustrating is that if we print to OneNote 2016 this worked perfectly every time.  If we print the same document to OneNote Win 10 app, it fails EVERY time.

Anyone out there ever print to OneNote Win 10 and see their document cut off on top/bottom left/right margins?  Anyone here on the OneNote team, ever use ONeNote and try to print a document to OneNote win 10?

Buehler?.... Buehler?...

The fact that I have been following this thread since the beginning and there is STILLno fix from Microsoft is quite pathetic on their part. Lack of ability to fix a fairly simple issue that is affecting almost every OneNote user does not engender much confidence in its customer base. How long until issues like these cause people to start leaving the Microsoft ecosystem entirely?

I agree with you so strongly and am totally shocked by the lack of response for such a SIMPLE and BASIC problem.  This issue renders a large portion of what OneNote is good for, completely useless!  As I laid out early in this thread, there are distinct differences with how OneNote for Win 10 and OneNote 2016 handle the "Print to OneNote" feature.  For the most part Print to OneNote 2016 works perfectly every time.  For sure Print to OneNote Win 10 FAILS every time.  If there were any way to actually reach the people inside MS who work on this, I would tell them to contact the person who wrote the working OneNote 2016 print driver and compare it to what the script kiddie wrote when they created the pathetic UWP OneNote Win 10 print driver and you would quickly find the problem and fix it for all your loyal paying customers.

Instead we are stuck in bureaucratic red tape while one team passes to another team and aren't allowed to follow or get updates, thus the real world users are left out in the cold for months and years for simple, basic fundamental problems that should be a given to work in 2020.

Rena, I still understand you are sort of in the middle like all of us.  WE appreciate your comments and your attempts to keep us up to date.

    Hi All,

Really sorry for the inconvenience. We also want to provide further updates, however, after we report this issue, the Office team has transferred the issue to the Windows team as they think the issue is more related to Windows Printer Driver issue.

Since then, we have very restricted permissions to access detailed process of this Windows bug. I can understand that many of you are still have strong concern about this case, but the better way to get more updates:

    1.       Use Feedback Hub to report this bug again to show more impacts to Windows team.

    2.       Post new thread in Windows category and get detailed updates from the related team directly.

    We apologize for this.

    Rena

    Hi Chris,

Although we have no permission to check the detailed information about that bug handling information, we may contact the related team with email and check the bug status. For example, whether it is still in process, fixed, or whether it has been closed for some reason. I can help you do that if you need.

But a bug fix may not very soon, it depends on whether it is high impact or high priority. But I will keep monitoring this thread for you.

    Regards,

    Rena

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for your understanding. Different support teams will have different permissions to access escalated bug. As far as I known, the issue has been transferred as a Windows bug already by the product team, and our support team will have limited access to know detailed process of this case. But I will confirm whether we still have other choices to get information. And I will post back as soon as I get response.

    Regards,

    Rena

    Chris,

You have it!  I'm am surely talking about physical printing!  Seems I'm the one who is confused.  But it is interesting that the problems are similar!
