Sharing Violations

Since installing Catalina 10.15 and Office 365 16.30 (updates installed the same day (something I will not due again)) when I attempt to save a workbook that I have used for a couple of years, I receive the alert: 'Your changes could not be saved  to xxx.xlsx due to a sharing violation.  I then receive the alert The file format end extension of 646820000.mactf don't match.

I contacted the Answer Desk who say it is an Apple Product and Apple support said it is a Microsoft problem.

Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

I contacted Microsoft Support yesterday and worked with 2nd level support who determined that the problem is within the 16.30 update and they have opened a ticket to the Excel Developers who will be contacting me later this week.

The problem occurs when the default Excel icon is changed (performed within Get info).

    Thanks for your help...

    Hi jacsdad,

Thanks for giving us time to test at our end. Apologies for delay in response as I am out of office.

After testing the problematic file provided by you at our end, we can save the problematic File without any problem after changing the already inserted hyperlinks or adding new hyperlinks to the file. As you already installed the previous version of Office version for working with the problematic files and we suggest you provide the feedback to related team via Excel application.

Open the Excel application> Click on smiley icon on upper right of application> I don’t like something> Provide the description and submit.

    Appreciate your patience shown completely.

    Best Regards,

    Chitrahaas

    It should be uploaded.

The majority of changes that cause the failure are wthen I make several updates to the Job Orders tab.

Changes can be updating an existing hyperlink or adding new data
