APA 7th Edition in MS Word - Microsoft Community
Microsoft has not done anything on this but a fellow user has.
APA does not care about automating any of their style. I believe they actually created it for a couple of purposes, one to make documents using APA horrible to read and two make everything manual. Even EndNote does not get APA styling correct.
Also take a look at Bibword. It is no longer being developed, but you can still download their old XML files. They can give you an idea of the syntax
It can, and WILL BE, ... , eventually. When someone, most likely MS, takes the time (and therefore spends the $$$MONEY$$$) to program the required "XML" program code to make Word understand the APA rules.
In theory, a third party could create the required XML code and share or sell it. I've suggested this idea on the APA site a few times now. It would be a competitive advantage for them if they could work with MS to ensure that any changes to their standard were released by they APA and MS at the same time ...
