power point presenter view scrolling from touch screen

I am having exactly the same problem on a Lenovo Carbon X1 Laptop and a Microsoft Surface 3 tablet. Scrolling of the notes in presenter view using touch screen does not work, except by using the scroll bar. One thing I notice is that when you start the presentation, scrolling of the notes works on the first slide, but as soon as you move to another slide it no longer works. Even when you go back to the first slide, it no longer works. I have tried Office Repairs and there is no difference. I have not uninstalled and reinstalled, as that is a major amount of time required (my Outlook alone has about 20 accounts that all have to be added again). I think this a bug that has been introduced in a recent update.

Thanks WolfHawkeAl.  This is helpful info. My question now is how to correct this glitch. Does this get fixed in an update? Is there anything i can do on my end. Im hoping it can be corrected soon as i make presentations weekly and rely on my Microsoft product working properly. Im currently keeping my keyboard attached to my touch screen as this is the only way i can scroll my notes in presenter view.  Im looking forward to hearing if there might be a solution to my problem.

I have not performed any troubleshooting steps at this point. I do not have the two hours it takes to repair or uninstall and reinstall Office and everything else works perfectly. I can work around the issue. I was merely trying to support Peter.4 by adding some more data to the discussion. My Office installs are on the monthly update cycle, so I'm just going to hope that it gets fixed in the next install.

The key point is this: for some odd reason the notes pane on Presenter View is no longer configured for scrolling. I'm guessing there's a typo in the code somewhere. This is happening on three separate machines, one of which is running Office Pro Plus by subscription and another of which is running the Home & Personal subscription. The fact that the subscriptions are different, the Windows versions are different and the machines are different, but evidencing the same behavior suggests a systemic issue with PowerPoint build 11901.20176 rather than something that can be taken care of with the uninstall-reinstall-repair two-step (as Peter.4 evidences above). From one IT professional to another, this should be understood. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

What troubleshooting steps have you done so far? I want to clarify if you have performed the troubleshooting steps suggested above? If you have updated the Office suite, you can repair, uninstall and reinstall the Office apps.

I am seeing the identical issue with PowerPoint on my SP4, though I should add that touch scrolling does not even work when the TypeCover is attached. The scroll bar merely shows up, allowing you to tap it for scrolling purposes.I can scroll the notes screen using my Surface Pen, which makes the touch screen not a total loss.

I am running PowerPoint Version 1907 (Build 11901.20176) on a Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10 - 1903 that has all cumulative updates loaded as of 2019-08-14 (KB4512508). I have also replicated the issue on my wife's Surface Pro 3, which is running the same build of PowerPoint, though it is running Windows 10 - 1803. Thus this seems to be an issue with PowerPoint Build 11901.20176. The issue did not exist before PowerPoint updated itself this month.
