Excel printing and display scaling bug

Office 365 x64 ver 1709 (Build 8431.2236 click-torun)

When printing with Excel, the page layout is being affected by display scaling. I had it set at 125%. A spreadsheet that normally prints to 6 pages is trying to print to 9 or 10 pages. Adjusting the page size in "page break view" does not fix the problem. This is with the setting, "fit all columns on one page". If you simply reduce the *print* scaling (by a percentage, instead) until it print on only 6 pages, the sheet appears more narrow than it normally does.

If you simply set the display scaling back to 100%, it fixes the problem. Display scaling should only change what I see, not how it prints.

Furthermore, checking the box under excel shortcut: "disable display scaling on high dpi settings" does NOT disable the display scaling for excel like it should. I had to completely shut it off under display settings to resolve the problem.

Edit: Added *print* to the scaling option I was referring to. Please note display scaling setting is in windows and print scaling is in excel.

Yes. It's obviously somehow related to video settings. This problem is also related to excel. Excel shouldn't print different to a printer or PDF because I change display settings.

My complaint is about printing and printing only. Everything else is incidental.

**Excel does NOT look fuzzy after you log out and log back in. It looks normal.**The reason excel looks fuzzy after you enable DPI scaling in windows is because it doesn't fully enable until you log out. This is not my problem. It's just an FYI .

Everything in windows looks fine after you log out and then back in. All the links you provide are about blurry text. The problem is that what will fit on a page in excel is slightly changing. This is causing it to print different.

All I really want at this point is the problem to be reported to someone who can actually fix it. Like the developers. The links indicate they have been doing a lot of work on DPI settings and they are VERY complicated. (This one https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3025083/windows-scaling-issues-for-high-dpi-devices) My build of office is the 365 with all the continuous updates. So this may be a new issue?

Thanks. I have some insight for you.

I cropped down an image of the "print" screen that I posted above. I then zoomed in as far as I could in mspaint, and counted the pixels. The 9 in the default 100% scalling has the same height as in the 125% scaling, but the width is different. In the 100% case it is 5 pixels wide, while in the 125% case it is 4 pixels wide.

So it seems to be the aspect ratio of the font that is causing the trouble.
