Excel printing and display scaling bug

The whole point of this post is that this happens when you turn on display scaling.  If you have a  large or small screen, its possible it is on by default.  Normal sized monitors won't turn on display scaling by default.  By on, I mean set to something other than 100%, regardless of the "recommended" setting.  You can work around your problem with printing by setting the scaling to 100%.  You must log out of your user profile and log back in (or restart computer) for these setting to FULLY take effect.  They do partially turn on immediately in windows 10, but you should log out or restart to test it.

I am having the exact same problem. Excel files that have printed perfectly for years are suddenly shifting (now they won't fit to one page vertically.) I'm having to shrink to fit but then it shrinks everything side to side also. 

It's very annoying. It's also shifting drawing objects so they no longer line up. I have a feeling it has something to do with the application that supposedly fixes programs that may appear blurry depending on the display.

Please find a solution to this problem as it's eating up much time trying to print things correctly. (to PDF by the way).

I have recently encountered this exact problem, in both Windows 7 and Windows 10.

I have a for set up to print exactly to one page wide. Changing the scaling in the Windows display settings (after logging off and logging on again after the change - this is important in Windows 10, as it doesn't give a notification, Windows 7 forces this/gives a warning pop up) impacts how the document prints and fits to the page dimensions, either pushing content onto a second page, or creating extra space in the margin.

For the record, we are using onboard graphics. On my machine it is Intel HD Graphics 5500, however I find it hard to believe it is linked to this.

First off, I am a normal guy with no canned answers.

I have the same issue and now with colleagues using Windows 7 and Windows 10, it is an absolute nightmare.

We use Excel for our quoting tools and proposal generation and the words and pages are all different to the point that we have to upgrade all users of the tools to new computers with Windows 10.

In Windows 7 we had the same Display scale issues where everyone needed to be on the same scale in order for our print macro to print out a PDF that didn't mess up the pages.   The bridge between 7 and 10 made that no better as that scaling option is buried and doesn't have the same functionality.

I do not think the good people at Microsoft (aka Michaelsoft) get it.

They almost need us to fly out to their offices to demo the bug.

I've gotten the impression they understand there is unintended behavior here, and are looking into a solution.  I will say, DPI scaling in general works a lot better than it did in previous editions of windows.  They did a lot of work improving DPI scaling leading up to this problem.  My guess is that now they have it implemented at such a low level that it is having unintended consequences.
