Why does my excel window lag so much when moved around the screen? no other app windows have the problem

The root of the problem is the way Excel is programmed to write the application to Windows.  The key to remember is that EACH of the "Office" programs was designed and built independently MANY years ago. So the design and code was specific to the needs of the application.  So, yes, I agree while A work-around to the problem is reducing mouse scan rates, the actual problem is in Excel itself.

is this is the wrong place to be asking it!  You need to submit a "bug report" feedback to MS. The more people who use feedback to complain about this problem, either by tagging on to an existing feedback or by creating a new one , the more likely MS is to act on the problem.  It helps if you are in a business situation and you can explain the business cost of this problem.

I just sent feedback on this subject to MS using the Windows10 "feedback hub" applet.

To upvote my feedback item by running the feedback hub applet, do this...

1. In Win10 run the feedback hub applet
2. find my feedback using the search box at top of applet.  This search box isn't labelled.  Its just the box at the top of the main screen.  Type keywords then click the magnifying glass to search.  I titled my feedback "Excel on Win10 slow awkward window movement", so a subset of those words works well, like Excel awkward .

3 Click the "upvote" link.  (Its small and not obviously a link.)

I think its best if we have one feedback item with a lot of upvotes, rather than many separate ones which my not get collated.   Feel free to submit your own, or comments to mine, but please upvote mine, to help us get noticed.

@fantonio2 I have no idea where your URL is supposed to lead to. When I open it, I arrive at some general corporate page, nothing related with the issue at hand.

@ all the people who suggested this or that action to try and see if the problem goes away: just plain no. The only guys we need to talk to are the ones who have written the damn broken code that draws the window and its special border. Don't make the lusers loose their time.
