Why does my excel window lag so much when moved around the screen? no other app windows have the problem

Having the same issue with it seems ANY Office application that has a file open.  Excel Word, Outlook all show some sort of lag using an Anker "gaming" mouse.  When I plug in a simple 3 button mouse (comes with any dell computer) problem is gone.. Even if both of the mouse are plugged in at the same time.. Anker mouse, lag moving window.  Same window just moved my hand to the other mouse plugged in right next to it.. No issue. 

Nothing else shows any sort of issue.. Dozens of programs from dozens of vendors. No issues. ONLY Microsoft Office apps.. 

Seems to eat up about 49% CPU when it is happening.. AND that is the application eating up the extra CPU.. Excell or outlook seen in task manager.. 

Turning off show window contents while dragging eliminates the issue.. (of course)

But turning off every single other option in performance create no noticeable improvement. 

NOW...

Installing and the anker mouse control software.. And changing the Polling rate.. 

Changing from 1000 to 500 made "some" improvement.. And from 500 to 250 gave maybe a bit more.. 

However!!! Going from 250 to 125 made it worse than 1000.. Visibly worse.

Enhanced pointer precision... no noticeable difference.

So OK  Work around is not working.. Is there ever going to be a real "FIX" for this..

I fixed it on my systems by going to control panel / Mouse Properties / Pointer Options

uncheck Enhanced pointer precision

I agree. I wish Microsoft would address the issue. I agree that some people probably see an improvement by changing mouse polling. I wonder if there is an improvement with a better video card. I would turn off the setting to draw window contents when dragging, but my work has all system settings locked out.

All of these are band-aid repairs. The problem is in the software implementation.

I think the real problem is that Excel is doing too much uninterruptible synchronous processing every time the window position changes (or maybe worse--every time the mouse is polled).

Yes, you are right.  I should not have simply labeled it a mouse polling rate issue, I was oversimplifying.

It is definitely due to the underlying structure of MS Office products and their processing throughput.

Likely, Excel has a much harder time simply because a refresh causes each single cell to be recalculated to be displayed again over and over and that is just madness.

I really hope they get to work on this.  Even if it means using a simple 'hack' like screenshoting what is visible and displaying that copy during the movement process so that there are no calculations or re-display issues while moving the window.

The problem occurs with ordinary mice.  This is NOT a gaming mice problem.
