Why does my excel window lag so much when moved around the screen? no other app windows have the problem

I'm not sure if you have read through this thread but if you have you will see that there are hundreds of users with similar problems and remains a very irritating Microsoft bug for them.

On my setup the problem appears to have gone away and I can now whiz excel windows around my screen without any delays or jerkiness, so somewhere along the line MS has pushed out an update without telling anyone.    

I tired all of the suggestions from board members but nothing worked for me and I just gave up. The mouse polling rate is a red herring as although it clearly has an effect on the window refresh, it does not fix the problem and I am using a bog standard Logitec M325 USB mouse with windows drivers and can not adjust USB polling rate anyway. The work around of turning off the window contents when moving did fix the slow jerky movement but that was not a fix, only a poor workaround.

For others still experiencing the problem my s/w versions are:

Win10 ver 1903 (OS build 18362.418)

Office 365 Excel ver 1909 (build 12026.20334 Click to Run)

If users update to latest s/w versions then maybe like it did for me, their problem will go away.

The issue is with the office programs coding for the windows - when a mouse with high polling rate is moved the motion of moving the window has a large input lag, is slow and sluggish. This is the case for all users. It should be an easy thing to solve and should be a priority, there are a huge amount of users using mice with a high pollrate these days :)

Instructions for running the feedback hub applet...

In windows 10, type the words FEEDBACK HUB into the search window at the lower left of your desktop.  This will show you the app.  Click on it.

The only guys we need to talk to are the ones who have written the damn broken code that draws the window and its special border. Don't make the lusers loose their time.

You stand a better chance of winning the lottery than having that happen ...

2 (slight) chances of that happening

#1 one of the very few MVPs or MS employees on this forum who do have contact with developers picks up this question and takes it to them ...

#2 you work for a multi-billion dollar company with 10 of thousands of Office licenses, who is losing truck loads of money because of this problem. Your IT department would have a dedicated sales rep who would have a hot line to the developers ...

The rest of us have to "throw the spaghetti at the wall, and see what sticks ..."

The Feedback Hub is only in Windows 10, search for it in the start menu or use the <WIN><F> shortcut. 

Otherwise you can use the "UserVoice" websites to submit this problem
