Onenote for Kindle: Error 80004005

I am having difficulties signing onto my personal (not for business) OneNote account with the app on my Kindle Fire HD 8 tablet. Of the countless times that I have attempted to, I received the notification:

"There's a problem

We can't complete this task. Try again.

Error code: 80004005"

I have checked that my connection was stable, and was even able to sign into OneNote through the browser, but was still unable to sign in through the app. Please reply back with solutions to this problem as soon as you are able to.

    There could be possible syncing issues in OneNote or a back end issue that's resulting in this error code. We'd like to get additional information for us to provide you troubleshooting steps. Please answer the following:

    • Which version of OneNote are you using?
    • Have you checked if there's any pending updates for OneNote? If it's updated, try to uninstall the application and reinstall it on your device.
    • Are you syncing your documents through OneDrive or SharePoint?

    We'll keep an eye out for your response.

    Does not report that any updates are available.

    Confirmed that i am using the correct password.

    -Version: 15.1.6821.4825

    -There are no pending updates, and I have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling to see if that would help to no avail.

    -And I am syncing my documents through OneDrive

    It appears the Android version was updated to version 16.0.9126.2097 on Mar 23, 2018.  Possibly they broke the version in the Kindle? The version in the Kindle store was from 2016.
