Microsoft Office 2010 on an XP OS

I've been using  Office 2010 on an XP platform for several years and suddenly receive the following:

"The procedure entry point GetDateFormatEx could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

Office was loaded on my machine when I received it so I do not have the registration key.

My XP machine is too old to upgrade to a newer OS.

Can anyone give some insight?

How and where do you find the update. I can no longer open any Office programs. I just keep getting the above message(The procedure entry point.......). I put in the original Office CD and selected repair (not install) but it did not correct the problem.

-Open 'Add or Remove programs' from Control Panel

-Check the show updates on the top of window

-Find Office 2010 in the list and find the KB4461522 and KB4462157 updates from its update and remove them.

-Restart the windows.

    I couldn't find the files to remove, but I was able to find the Office installation disk so I reinstalled Officer 2010 and all is now fine

    You are right, I missed that step.  I have followed your instructions and have located the update in Microsoft Update, but when I right click it, there is no option to hide it.  Any further suggestions?

    @Rich Mercer,

    I repeat my post of 15 January, as it looks like you have missed this step and have not blocked the offending update from reappearing.

    You can deselect the KBXXXXXXX from your pending updates by going to the Microsoft Update website i.e.  update.microsoft.com (using IE browser).

    Choose custom detection of updates.

    When the offending KBXXXXXXX is listed, right click on it and you should see an option to hide it.

    That should then prevent that particular update from being presented in future list of updates.

    Even though I have changed the Updates selection to "Notify me...," as you suggested, yesterday both my OS XP computers with Office 2010 installed were again blocked as before.  KB4462157 had been reinstalled, but I had received no notification notice.  After uninstalling this offending update, both computers were back to normal function.
