MS Project 2016 not saving custom field.

Is anyone aware of an issue with MS Project 2016 where a custom field is not being saved?

The field is a flag one and is displayed as an image. If the value of the field is changed and the file is saved, when the file is re-opened the value has been brought back to its original value before the change. It works as expected in MS Project 2013.

    Hi Stanislava,

    After creating the custom field and adding the Flag1 column, set a value to the task. From the video, we see that you have not created a task and have not set a value to the task's Flag1.

    After setting it to Yes/No, save and close the file, then re-open the file and go to Custom Fields and change one of the No to a Yes. We suggest re-checking our video and follow the steps until we re-open the file.

    Thank you for your message.

    The suggested workaround is behaving as expected when a new file is created and when the customized field and the task are also newly created.

    I am afraid that this is not a proper solution. There are a high number of already existing files and re-creating them is not an option. Could you advise further please?

    Hi Stanislava,

    Yes, this only applies when a new project is created. We understand that this still affects existing files and it would not be feasible to completely re-create each project.
