MS Project 2016 not saving custom field.

If the issue persists, please provide the following information:

1. **** Are you using Project online desktop online or Project Professional 2016? To check this information, please provide the screenshot of Project Product Information. To get this screenshot, open Project, click File>Account, capture the screenshot of all the information mentioned under Product Information.
2. **** Do you have Project online license or Project server?
3. What happens after you save the custom field? Please provide the detailed information with the steps to reproduce the issue, so we can test on our end.
4. Please provide the screenshot of the custom field which you created.

Thank you for your message.

Please see answers below.

1. Project online desktop client.
2. Project online license.
3. If the value of the field is set to "No" and the file is saved, when it is re-opened the value is brought back to "Yes".

It works fine the other way around - if the value of the field is set to "Yes" and the file is saved, when it is re-opened the value is "Yes".

I tested with the latest version of Monthly channel i.e. Version 1811 (Build 11029.20079) and I don’t see this behavior. I set the field to ‘No’ and then re-opened Graphical indicator, it still shows the value set as ‘No’. I tested by creating two custom fields.

Please make sure you have all updates installed. As you are using Project Online Desktop Client, please check this article for version information and compare your Project version and make sure you have the latest version.

If your Office version is behind, please update the apps. To know how to install Office updates, please see Install Office updates.

If the issue persists, please confirm the version of your Project Online Desktop Client.

Thank you for your message.

The versions of Office and Project are 1708.

The issue is that the value in the field is not saved when it is changed in any of the tasks in the file and not that it is not saved in the setup of the custom field itself as I see you have attached a screenshot of the custom field. And the custom field has two values - one when it is equal to "Yes" which displays an image and one when it is equal to "No" which does not display an image as seen in my screenshot.

Just curious, if you display the data (i.e. no indicators), does the setting "stick" when the file is saved? How about if you use indicators but also set an indicator for the "no" condition?
